Service Description

What is an autoimmune disease? An autoimmune disease is a condition in which your immune system mistakenly attacks your body. The immune system normally guards against germs like viruses and bacteria. In an autoimmune disease, the immune system by mistake attacks part of your body, like your thyroid, joints or skin, treating them like foreign. It causes releasing proteins called autoantibodies that attack healthy cells. There are more than 80 different autoimmune diseases. Most chronic conditions are caused by autoimmunity. The most common autoimmune are: Rheumatoid arthritis, Multiple sclerosis, Psoriasis, Inflammatory bowel disease, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Graves’ disease, diabetes, Pernicious anemia, Celiac disease, Fibromyalgia, Autism, ADHD, Alzheimer's disease, Chronic fatigue syndrome, PCOS, Endometriosis, Metabolic syndrome. Even depression could be caused by autoimmunity. An autoimmune disease lowers the quality of your life, causes chronic fatigue and pain. Some people become being disabled because of the autoimmunity, like happening with patients with Multiple Sclerosis or Fibromyalgia. Unfortunately, many of the conventional treatments available are not effective in treating such conditions. There is another way to deal with autoimmune conditions by recognizing and addressing the root causes of the disease through diet, lifestyle and supplements. As a Functional Medicine Practitioner, I focus on the belief that there are biochemical and nutritional imbalances and some toxicity in the body that lead to the disease. Therefore I take a holistic approach to my clients, designing for them a personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan to help maintain their well-being. Nutritional approach for autoimmune diseases focuses on changing your diet removing flammatory food, healing the gastrointestinal tract, decreasing inflammation and hormonal imbalances in the body. I will give you recommendations to restore nutritional balance in your body, which may include guidance on avoiding certain allergens and toxins, detoxification and the use of supplementary nutrients such as minerals and vitamins.
